About Us

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

What is The Wild Ones?

The Wild Ones is a social enterprise rooted in Kampala’s industrial area, blending a creative studio, live music venue, rooftop bar, and community hub.

We’re more than a venue — we’re a movement. A place where artists, musicians, makers, and dreamers come together to create, collaborate, and inspire change. From Sunday Fundays to late-night DJ sets, from workshops to residencies, The Wild Ones is designed to cultivate creativity and community while driving real social impact.

Our motto? Work Hard, Play Hard.
We’re here to support creativity, well-being, and youth empowerment in Uganda and beyond.

Meet the Founder: Marcus Warry

Marcus Warry is the driving force behind The Wild Ones. A chartered accountant turned social entrepreneur, artist, debater, boxer and adventurer, Marcus has spent the last 20 years building a life that blends creativity, business, and impact.

A curious mix of experiences from auditing banks in London (urgh), to hosting debates from the back of a horsebox at festivals…

  • Launching professional boxing events in Uganda, even building a few pro boxing careers.
  • Restoring an old WW2 wooden boat that ended up featured on TV.
  • Serving as a trustee of Interim Spaces, a UK charity focused on creative use of empty buildings.
  • Chairing debates at music festivals from a converted horse box.
  • Returning to college at 40 to study fine art (Slade School of Fine Art & Kensington & Chelsea College)
  • Living between London and Uganda, building projects that mix culture, creativity, and community.

Marcus started The Wild Ones because he saw a gap: Kampala needed a place that wasn’t just a bar, but a platform. A place that champions young creatives, attracts international collaborations, and shows that social enterprise can be cool, vibrant, and world-changing.
