The Wild Ones is a social enterprise and creative hub in Kampala’s industrial area — cultivating creativity and inspiring change. With a two-stage venue, rooftop, and studio spaces, we’re building a movement that connects creatives and creativity lovers through music, art, fashion, film, food, and more.
Right now, one of our biggest focuses is supporting and promoting DJs and electronic music — helping the scene grow, thrive, and reach new audiences across Uganda and beyond. I’f you’d like to join our WhatsApp Community, and specifically the group called “Wild DJ & Electronic Music Lovers? Click below!
A new home for DJs & dance floor lovers
This WhatsApp Community is for DJs, producers, beat makers, synth heads, crate diggers, and sound nerds of all kinds — and the fans who live for the energy of electronic music.
Whether you’re into house, amapiano, techno, afro-electro, DnB, dubstep, or experimental sounds, this is your tribe.
At The Wild Ones, our two-stage venue means we can host two sounds in one night — from deep techno to afrobeats (or more mainstream pop sometimes too), all under one roof. It’s about experimenting, cross-pollinating, and creating a fertile ground for new talent to grow.
Currently our busy nights get 300 or so, but with a standard capacity now at over 500, there’s plenty of room to make this place even more banging on a regular basis – and that’s even before we open up the courtyard again when we can attract up to 1000!
SOME OF THE THINGs WE ARE DOING
🌙 Weeknights — our breeding ground: this is where new ideas take shape. From Open Decks to talks, workshops, and jam sessions, weeknights are the place to test, experiment, and grow. The Wild Ones is a launchpad for DJs and nights of all kinds — from first-time selectors to bold new collectives. Got an idea you want to try out? Message us and let’s make it happen.
🎶 Fridays — our laboratory: a space for showcasing talent and new ideas, that have potential to grow. Expect new sounds, bold ideas, and genre-bending collabs. With two stages, we can run parallel experiments — DJs and collectives try things out on one stage and we try a different vibe on the other (or we curate it together).
🪩 Saturdays — prime time: a showcase for the DJs and collectives who know how to build and own a crowd. But even here, our double-stage setup means we can slip in fresh ideas alongside the headliners, creating a mix of energy and discovery.
🎛️ Talks, Workshops, Podcasts & Open Decks — weekly sessions where DJs learn, share, and play. From building your profile, promoting nights, and attracting international attention, to jumping on the decks for jam-style sets — we mix learning with doing. Often, a workshop, talk, or podcast flows straight into an open decks session, where the gathering naturally evolves into a shared vibe.
THINGs WE ARE DEVELOPING
🌍 The Loft Sessions Africa — we’ve already piloted this Boiler Room–style concept and will be expanding it soon. On selected nights, different collectives will be invited to join a Loft Session, connecting Kampala’s DJs to the world through live broadcast — while also opening up new income streams for artists and the venue alike. With our RØDECaster Pro II and professional streaming setup, we ensure top-quality audio for every session. We are also exploring a collaboration with a new European streaming platform that guarantees a fair share of ticket income goes directly to the artists. Watch this space.
🌆 Wild Urban Festival — coming soon: a 24-hour festival running from Saturday 12pm to Sunday 12pm. Collectives will take over multiple stages, blending electronic music with other genres, artforms, and urban culture. What makes this unique is that artists involved will be invited into residencies at The Wild Ones, co-developing the concept together, as the festival build — with profit share on tickets for collaborators who help shape the night.
Two Stages. Two Systems. Plug & Play.
At The Wild Ones, we’ve invested in the gear to make things easy: two stages, two full sound systems, and a growing set of professional equipment ready to go. That means less hassle for DJs and collectives — fewer transport costs, less equipment hire, and more time to focus on the music.
Our aim is to make The Wild Ones the easiest place in Kampala to set up and play. Bring your Music, USB, and your controller — we’ll make sure the rest is ready.
And we’re not done yet. We want to keep improving together — collaborating with DJs, crews, and collectives to make sure the setup, sound, and vibe always get better. Please feel free to get involved and bring your ideas to the table too.
If you’re part of Kampala’s DJ scene, or you’ve got ideas on how we can push this further, join us and let’s build the best home for electronic music in the city.
IDEA BREWING – BUILDING AND Promoting the scene together
We want to lift the whole electronic music scene in Kampala. This means we are thinking of doing the following, whether happening at The Wild ORight now, there’s no easy way to see what’s on in Kampala for electronic music (or most events, really). There’s no Resident Advisor or Time Out here yet as such — so why not let The Wild Ones become that platform for Uganda? A place where people can discover everything happening across the city’s electronic music and nightlife scene, in one click.
Here’s what we’re working towards:
- Showcasing the whole scene — from collectives and venues like Safari Maze, El Canto, and The Meat Guy, to underground parties and DIY nights. One place where customers and fans can see exactly what’s going on across Kampala.
- Sharing ideas & strategies — feedback circles and open discussions on how to promote nights better, grow audiences, and raise the profile of the scene.
- Collaboration & cross-pollination — linking DJs, producers, venues, and collectives to create new partnerships and experiences across the city.
- Community-driven promotion — coming soon: a dedicated platform powered by the community, for the community, to showcase and elevate electronic music in Kampala.
We don’t just want to lift The Wild Ones — we want to lift the whole scene.
👉 What do you think? Want to get involved? Message us — let’s build this together.
