Kampala has always had a heartbeat of music, but too often, there haven’t been enough spaces dedicated to nurturing, showcasing, and celebrating the incredible talent this city has to offer. At The Wild Ones, our mission is simple: to become the home for live music in Kampala – a place where musicians can learn, practice, rehearse, and perform, all within one creative ecosystem.

Building a Breeding Ground for Musicians
We believe that music needs a fertile environment to grow – and that’s what we’re building here. Our vision is to become a breeding ground for musicians: a space where every stage of the creative journey is supported, from the very first open mic performance to standing in front of 1,000 people in our courtyard, like the old days.
That means:
- Two-week residencies for musicians and bands.
- Open mics and jam sessions after our Sunday live shows, giving space for improvisation and discovery.
- Free rehearsal space with professional sound and equipment.
- A proper stage, sound system, smoke screens, projectors, and everything that makes performance feel professional.
Would like to join in, and and maybe even assist in making this dream a reality? Please read on until the end…
A Partnership with CMH Live – LIVE MUSIC EVERY SUNDAY
A huge step in this journey has been our partnership with CMH Live, who having started a two week residency back in May 2025, now have a long term spot with The Wild Ones. Together, we’re building Sunday nights into something truly special – a regular showcase for artists from their programme, with proper production and a welcoming audience.
And that’s only the beginning. We’re already dreaming up new formats – from the return of Big Sunday Band Nights, to a 24-hour Wild Urban Festival (12pm Saturday to 12pm Sunday), bringing non-stop music, creativity, and community.
Beyond the Stage: Skills for the Music Industry
Being a musician today isn’t just about playing music – it’s about knowing how to present yourself and thrive in the industry. That’s why we want The Wild Ones to go beyond just giving performance opportunities. And with CMH Live we’d like to bring in workshops and guest speakers to help musicians build vital skills, such as:
- Creating media packs and social content.
- Negotiating deals with venues and promoters.
- Understanding marketing, branding, and audience building.
- Connecting with music professionals in the UK and around the world through live Zoom sessions.
This is about more than just music – it’s about empowering musicians with the tools to grow sustainable careers.
Loft Sessions & Embracing Technology
Another exciting frontier for us is Loft Sessions – a Boiler Room–style format for DJs, filmed in our Loft space and broadcast live on Twitch. It’s not only a chance to raise the profile of Ugandan DJs but also a potential new income stream and platform for them.
And why stop at DJs? We plan to expand this concept to live bands and musicians, creating a bridge between Kampala and the global music scene. Imagine artists in London and Kampala performing in connected sessions – a cultural exchange powered by technology.
We’ve already explored this idea over Titch, and we’re about to sample a innovative new tech streaming platform founded in Finland, called My Staze – and we will try broadcasting one of the Sunday Live Music nights soon, to people all around the world – watch this space!
A Global Vision, Rooted in Kampala
In London, countless small venues help nurture talent, giving artists the space to grow before they step onto bigger stages. Kampala deserves the same – and we believe The Wild Ones can be that space.
Our partnerships with CMH Live, Nyege Nyege, and Yo Voice Be Heard have already brought incredible artists to our stage, and with time, these showcases will only get bigger. When we reopen our courtyard, we’ll welcome back 1,000 people or more – proof of just how much appetite there is for live music in this city.
But at its core, our mission is simple: to be a place for all musicians, whatever their genre, background, or ambition. A place where they can nurture their talent, grow their confidence, and connect with audiences here in Kampala and far beyond.
The journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Stay Wild, Stay Musical.
