We’re Hiring! Event & Partnerships Manager at The Wild Ones Kampala

Job Title: Event & Partnerships Manager

📍 The Wild Ones, 7th Street, Industrial Area, Kampala

💼 Freelance trial → then full-time.

Remuneration is competitive and will include a base retainer plus commissions, following a short paid trial linked to one or two specific events.

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Event & Partnerships professional

If you’ve built events, managed venues, or secured sponsorship deals before — and you thrive in a fast-moving, creative environment — this is for you.

We need someone experienced, confident, and proactive to help grow The Wild Ones by bringing in corporate events, private parties, and brand sponsorships, while also helping coordinate and elevate the vibrant mix of creative nights already happening in the space.

You’ll work directly with Marcus Warry, the founder of The Wild Ones — a UK social-impact consultant and creative entrepreneur who has spent years developing artistic spaces and projects in London and now Kampala. Marcus combines a background in fine art, creative entrepreneurship, and social-impact consulting to build ventures that blend creativity with purpose.

This is an opportunity to be his right-hand collaborator, helping sustain the venue and community while enabling him to focus on The Wild Ones’ wider global mission — building Fly on the Wall, an international broadcast platform connecting Ugandan creators to global audiences.

By supporting the success of the venue locally, you’ll also be contributing to a much bigger story: sharing Uganda’s creative energy with the world.

About The Wild Ones

Welcome to The Wild Ones — Kampala’s creative home for music, art, and community.

We’re more than a venue; we’re an ecosystem where ideas are born, developed, and showcased.

As a social enterprise with the mission “Cultivating Creativity, Inspiring Change,” we operate as a creative hub that balances commercial activity with social impact.

We’re also uniquely positioned to attract corporate sponsorships and creative grants, working with both brands and funding bodies that share our vision of nurturing the next generation of East African talent.

Our multi-space venue brings together Kampala’s creative energy across four interconnected zones:

The Loft – an intimate underground space for electronic and experimental sounds. The Rooftop Bar & Terrace – open-air vibes perfect for live music, DJ sets, and creative pop-ups. The Upper Café Bar – a flexible, intimate space for screenings, talks, or private dinners. The Courtyard – a large outdoor area (500+ capacity) for festivals, concerts, and weekend showcases.

Together, these spaces form a multi-stage creative playground where multiple worlds collide — from music and fashion to film, art, and performance.

The Role

We’re looking for someone to take the lead on sales, partnerships, and event coordination at The Wild Ones.

Your focus will be to:

🎯 Bring in events that pay — corporate functions, brand activations, product launches, and private celebrations.

💡 Secure sponsorships — connect our creative nights with aligned brands. For example, our Dance Thursdays could be a perfect fit for an energy drink partner, or our Creative Studio might attract interest from Coke Studio or other cultural platforms.

🤝 Build partnerships — with promoters, collectives, and organisers who can fill the space with great crowds.

🎶 Support Wild Ones programming — help shape and deliver our in-house creative events, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work closely with Marcus to make sure each event — whether hosted by an external client or part of our own programme — is well-managed, on-brand, and commercially successful.

Special Projects

You’ll also have the chance to be involved in some of our most exciting upcoming projects — such as the Wild 24-Hour Urban Festival planned for December / January (date TBC).

This groundbreaking festival will bring together artists, musicians, dancers, and designers from across Kampala for 24 hours of non-stop creativity — all taking residency with us to conceive, develop, and showcase their ideas under one roof.

It’s a cooperative model, where every creative involved shares in the ticket income — a truly collaborative, sustainable approach that embodies The Wild Ones’ ethos.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively seek and secure paid bookings for the venue (corporate events, private parties, creative showcases). Develop and pitch sponsorship opportunities around recurring events (e.g. Dance Thursdays, Rooftop Nights). Identify and explore grant opportunities that align with our social-impact mission. Manage event coordination — from enquiry through to delivery. Liaise with organisers, DJs, artists, and staff to ensure seamless execution. Maintain and update a full events calendar, balancing creative and commercial bookings. Support marketing and communications through social media and WhatsApp coordination. Track event performance and revenue to guide future growth.

Trial & Pay Structure

We believe in working with people in a real, practical way first — to see how we click as a team and how you perform in our unique environment.

That’s why this role begins with a freelance trial period, linked to one or two specific events.

You’ll work with us day-to-day over the course of a couple of weeks, helping plan and deliver an event from start to finish — coordinating with partners, artists, and staff to ensure it’s a success.

You’ll be paid a day rate (to be agreed in advance) for your time and specific deliverables during this project.

If we work well together and the collaboration proves successful, we’ll move to a longer-term arrangement with:

A competitive monthly retainer, and Commissions on confirmed bookings and sponsorships you secure.

This approach builds mutual trust and gives you the chance to experience the energy and rhythm of The Wild Ones firsthand.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in event management, venue sales, or sponsorships (2+ years preferred). Strong understanding of Kampala’s music, nightlife, and creative industries. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Self-motivated, confident, and entrepreneurial. Reliable, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Passionate about creativity, culture, and making a positive social impact.

Why Join The Wild Ones?

This is more than a job — it’s a career opportunity to grow with an ambitious creative and social enterprise.

You’ll be part of a team that’s redefining what a venue can be, blending creativity, community, and impact.

You’ll work side-by-side with Marcus to attract sponsors, build partnerships, and strengthen the venue — while helping unlock the next chapter of The Wild Ones: connecting Kampala’s creative scene to a global audience through Fly on the Wall and The Loft Sessions: Africa.
